Top Gun FC crowned Champions after epic final
(Story extracted from The Farnham Herald)

Top Gun FC captain Goose hailed his heroes after his side dethroned Only Fools And Hung Like Horses with a classic 3-2 triumph in the final of the University Championships at the Stade de Farnham last night.

It was their opponents' first defeat in three years, having won the tournament the previous two and remaining undefeated on the road to the final this year.

Goose said: "We played out of our skins today and I feel we deserved it in the end because the boys did everything I could have asked for. They were all heroes today, it was our finest hour."

On his stunning goal, which made the score 2-1, he beamed: "I think they stood off me because they didn't expect me to shoot from there but it just flew in. It could've gone anywhere to be honest so it was a dream when it went in.

"I think it was a bit of a turning point because we were starting to feel like there was nothing left in the tank and they were coming back strongly. But it gave us a second wind and knocked the stuffing out of them a bit."

Cougar gave Top Gun an early lead but it was cancelled out by Dave Headd. The game looked deadlocked at 1-1 until Goose's wonder strike and then goal machine Maverick - who had already bagged eight goals in the quarter and semi final - all but sealed victory with the crucial third.

Marky Mark pulled a late goal back to set up a tense finale, but Top Gun FC held on to beat their deadly rivals by the same score they lost to in last years quarter-final when these two giants of the 5-a-side world clashed for the first time.

Leading marksman Maverick, with 27 goals to his name, added: "We weren't out for revenge but of course we wanted to get them back for last year. It was their last appearance in the tournament so we had to prove ourselves by beating them this year. Next time we'll be favourites so the pressure will be different.

"I just want to say that we have been labelled a one-man team because of my goals but I want to give massive credit to the others because without them I wouldn't get half as many and we'd concede a hell of a lot more goals. We all play for each other and that is our main strength."

There will be an open-top bus parade through the town today from 1pm. Fans are advised to find there spot early as huge crowds are expected to gather for the celebrations.

Title: Nazi Archive; Text: (Man holding video tape over open box labelled with a swastika and 'Archive' says) Hey... Another 9/11 tape.
Fifty million files in a vast archive in the German town of Bad Arolsen will be opened for the first time to researchers according to an agreement on May 16, 2006. The decision was made by the 11-nation International Commission that oversees the archive. The panel has kept the archive locked away since World War II. The files are expected to be available by the end of the year.

An example of documents in the archive was shown to reporters in April. It was the the camp’s Totenbuch, or Death Book, for 1942 and 1943 at the Mauthausen concentration camp in Austria. Three hundred prisoners were executed in just a few hours on April 20, 1942. The camp commandant did it as a birthday gift for Adolf Hitler.

On the same day, the Department of Defense released a video tape allegedly showing American Airlines Flight 77 striking the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. Judicial Watch brought a lawsuit that resulted in the release. The legal action followed a 2004 Freedom of Information Act request by Judicial Watch that was refused by the Pentagon. Judicial Watch, a self-described public interest foundation and legal watchdog, is an extreme right-wing group hoping to put Flight 77 conspiracy theories to rest. Are they joking?

At Nuremberg, General Franz Halder stated in an affidavit that Göring had joked about setting the Reichstag fire. The “joke” was heard at a lunch on April 20, 1942 — Adolf Hitler’s birthday.

I remember vaguely a movie set during the 60's. This family gets a hair up their ass, buys a school bus, paints it up in psychedelic colors and travels off to a "Woodstock" type festival. I think the Mom helps some hippie chick have a baby.

Not the Partridge Family.

Does anyone else remember this movie? I think it came out in the early 70's. It may have been a Made for TV movie. Help?
